This appeal arises from the trial, in the Circuit Court for Harford County, of Anthony Loyd Mitchell, the petitioner, for attempted murder and related offenses. During his closing argument, defense counsel called attention to certain potential witnesses that the State did not call. Defense counsel stated, among other things, that "the idea ... is to bring ... all the evidence into court" (emphasis added). According to defense counsel, some eyewitnesses...
