Defendant, Johnathan C. Thomas, was convicted of armed robbery after a jury trial. He was subsequently sentenced to 26 years at hard labor without the benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence. Defendant appealed and the conviction was affirmed; however, the sentence was vacated and the matter remanded for resentencing.
