A jury found the defendant, Antrown McGarr, guilty as charged of aggravated second degree battery, a violation of La. R.S. 14:34.7, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a violation of La. R.S. 14:95.1. McGarr filed several post-trial motions which were denied by the trial court; however, the court failed to rule on McGarr's motion for new trial. It subsequently sentenced the defendant to serve ten years imprisonment at hard labor for the battery...
