Defendant, Nina Lambert Newton, is the mother of Sean and Brandon Newton. Sean, Brandon, Joshua Lambert (their cousin), and three friends became involved in a gang dispute at Prien Lake Mall. The two gangs continued their confrontation in a neighborhood behind the mall. The six young men were all in the Newtons' father's car and Sean Newton was driving.
