WELCH, J.

The defendant, Kaven P. Clouatre, was charged by grand jury indictment with simple rape, a violation of La. R.S. 14:43. The defendant pled not guilty and, following a jury trial, was found guilty as charged. The defendant was sentenced to twelve years at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. The defendant now appeals, designating one assignment of error. We affirm the conviction and sentence.
