The defendant, Greg Harris a/k/a Greg Ficklin, was charged by grand jury indictment with one count of second degree murder, a violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1, and pled not guilty. Following a jury trial, he was found guilty of the responsive offense of manslaughter, a violation of La. R.S. 14:31. He was sentenced to forty years at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension...
