Courtney Paul Savoy was convicted of simple escape, in violation of La.R.S. 14:110, and sentenced to five years at hard labor, to run consecutively to an earlier sentence. The conviction arose out of Savoy's actions as a principal in the escape of another inmate, Jacob Shaw.
