The defendant, Alvin Betts, was charged by bill of information with fourth offense DWI, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:98(E). He pled not guilty. The defendant filed a motion to quash the bill of information based on an allegedly invalid predicate DWI conviction listed therein. The trial court denied the motion to quash. Subsequently, the defendant withdrew his not guilty plea and entered a Crosby plea of guilty to fourth offense DWI...
