Defendant was convicted of manslaughter on July 19, 2003. He was initially sentenced to twenty-five years at hard labor. However, on August 17, 2005, at a hearing on a Motion to Reconsider his sentence, the trial court reduced Defendant's sentence to twenty-five years at hard labor, with all but seventeen years suspended.
