The defendant, Universal Public Transportation, Inc. (UPT), was convicted, following a bench trial, of vendor fraud (305 ILCS 5/8A-3 (West 2000)), theft (720 ILCS 5/16-1 (West 2000)), and money laundering (720 ILCS 5/29B-1 (West 2000)). UPT was sentenced to one-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay $2,966,187.38 in restitution and $200,000 in fines. On appeal, UPT presents the following issues for our review...
