On March 23, 2006, defendant, Gary W. Schuning, was indicted for the stabbing deaths of two victims on February 26, 2006. 720 ILCS 5/9-1(a)(1) (West 2006). On August 14, 2008, defendant filed an amended motion to suppress certain statements that he made to officers on February 27, February 28, and March 7, 2006.
