Following a jury trial, defendant, Efren Aguilar, was found guilty of first degree murder in the shooting death of Brandon McClelland. The trial court sentenced defendant to 50 years' imprisonment—25 years on the first degree murder conviction and an additional 25 years for using a firearm during the offense.
