Justice STEIGMANN delivered the opinion of the court:

In April 2006, a jury convicted defendant, Tommy L. Foster, of burglary (720 ILCS 5/19-1(a) (West 2004)) and obstructing justice (720 ILCS 5/31-4(a) (West 2004)). In May 2006, the trial court sentenced him to 15 years in prison for burglary and one year for obstructing justice, to be served concurrently.
