MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER

Before the Court is Petitioner James Thivel's petition for a writ of habeas corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2254(d), challenging his 2001 convictions for first-degree murder. For the following reasons, the Court denies Thivel's habeas petition and declines to certify any issues for appeal.
