Dr. Ayo Gooden was a non-tenured faculty member at Cheyney University ("Cheyney"), a Pennsylvania state-sponsored university, which declined to renew her employment contract for the 2010-2011 academic year. Gooden's amended complaint alleges this non-renewal violated her First and Fourteenth Amendment rights and was sanctionable under the Pennsylvania Whistleblower Act.
