Bryan Chappell pleaded guilty to possessing counterfeit currency, 18 U.S.C. § 472, and being a felon in possession of a firearm, 18 U.S.C. § 922(g). The district court1 calculated his sentencing range as 135 to 168 months but concluded that he was subject to a fifteen-year (180-month) minimum prison sentence under the Armed Career Criminal Act (ACCA), see
