James M. Daniels spent eight months in jail for a crime he did not commit. He was released from pretrial custody upon his acquittal at a bench trial on charges that he sold crack cocaine to Palm Beach County Deputy Sheriff John Bango, who was working undercover in Boynton Beach, Florida. As it turned out, the dealer was actually someone else. Bango misidentified Daniels as the dealer even though Bango spent about twenty...
