Republic Bank & Trust Company bought more than fifty million dollars worth of residential-mortgage-backed securities from Bear Stearns. It did not read the relevant offering documents before investing. As the national economy crumbled in 2007 and 2008, so did the value of Republic's investments. In response, Republic brought this suit in 2009, alleging that Bear Stearns and one of its employees ("Appellees") fraudulently...
