Cindy Tripp suffered injuries in a motor vehicle accident and settled her claims against the at-fault driver. She then sought $150,000 from her own insurer, Western National Mutual Insurance Company (Western), an amount which represented the remaining limits of her underinsured motorist (UIM) coverage.
