I. INTRODUCTION

Plaintiff Kathleen B., presently 62 years of age, appeals from a grant of summary judgment in favor of defendant William Shubeck on plaintiff's complaint, seeking to hold defendant liable for damages she suffered as a result of "childhood sexual abuse." The complaint was filed under the provisions of Code of Civil Procedure section 340.1, subdivision (a)(1),
