During the week before filing her bankruptcy petition, the debtor raised money to make needed roof repairs on her heavily mortgaged home by selling the only significant unencumbered asset she owned and borrowing money from her mother. When she filed bankruptcy at the end of that week, she omitted any reference to the payment she made to her mother from her sworn statement of financial affairs. The trustee contends...
