This case arises from the alleged role of the Republic of Sudan and its Interior Ministry ("Sudan") in the simultaneous U.S. embassy bombings in Nairobi, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on August 7, 1998, carried out by the terrorist group al Qaeda.
