COCHRAN, J., delivered the opinion of the Court, in which KELLER, P.J., and PRICE, WOMACK, JOHNSON, KEASLER, HERVEY and HOLCOMB, JJ., joined.

Appellant shot and killed his older brother. He claimed self-defense. A jury rejected that claim and found him guilty of murder. On direct appeal, appellant claimed that the trial judge erred in failing to instruct the jury that it could consider prior verbal threats in deciding the issue of self-defense...
