Defendant, Mack Henry Johnson, Jr., was charged by bill of information with one count of simple escape, a violation of La.R.S. 14:110. Trial by jury commenced on January 30, 2006. On the same day, a jury found Defendant guilty as charged. On February 2, 2006, the State filed a multiple offender bill against Defendant. On April 27, 2006, Defendant was adjudicated a third-time felony offender and sentenced to five years at hard labor, to be served consecutively...
