Appellant/Cross-Appellee, Smithfield Packing Company, Inc., appeals from a verdict rendered by a jury in the Circuit Court for Prince George's County, on its claim of malicious prosecution, in favor of appellee/cross-appellant, Kenneth Moore. The jury awarded Moore $560,523 in compensatory damages and $1,000,000 in punitive damages. The compensatory damage award included $52,947 in lost wages and $2,971 in interest on lost wages.
