Plaintiff Kim Griffith ("Griffith") filed this action against defendant Mellon Bank ("Mellon") after Mellon refused to pay, on August 15, 2002, a bearer certificate of deposit purportedly issued by Mellon more than twenty-seven years ago in the amount of $530,000.
