A jury found appellant David Bryan Ballard guilty of failing to register as a sex offender. See Tex.Code Crim. Proc. Ann. art. 62.10(a), (b)(2) (West Supp.2004). The jury also found that appellant had two previous felony convictions and assessed his punishment at imprisonment for life.
