In this case, a student at the community college slipped and fell while walking on a campus sidewalk. The section of the sidewalk was composed of a metal plate providing a drain under the walkway. The metal plate was wet with condensate. A jury determined that the institution was liable for its student's accident and awarded damages. The institution appeals, asserting, inter alia, that it had no prior notice of the condition of the metal drain plate...
