A jury found the defendant, Ronald L. Wells, guilty of first degree (felony) murder (720 ILCS 5/9-1(a)(3) (West 2000)) and concealment of a homicidal death (720 ILCS 5/9-3.1(a) (West 2000)). The felony murder conviction was based on robbery. The defendant was sentenced to concurrent prison terms of natural life and five years, respectively.
