MEIERHENRY, Justice.

[¶ 1.] The child D.M. became eligible for adoption through the Department of Social Services (DSS) after the parental rights to the child were involuntarily terminated by the trial court. DSS began the process of finding an adoptive placement. Accordingly, DSS approved three adoptive families, two of the families were relatives of D.M., the other was a non-related foster family.
