The defendant, Vernon L. Orange, was charged by bill of information with armed robbery, a violation of La. R.S. 14:64. He entered a plea of not guilty. Following a hearing wherein doctor's reports were admitted in evidence, the court found the defendant competent to stand trial. The defendant later withdrew his plea of not guilty and entered a plea of not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity. The defendant filed a motion to reopen the sanity commission...
