CARNES, Circuit Judge:

The plaintiffs are prevailing parties in this 42 U.S.C. § 1983 case, and for that reason they are entitled to reasonable fees and expenses under 42 U.S.C. § 1988(b). Pursuant to 11th Cir. R. 39-2, they have filed a timely application for fees and expenses in connection with their successful defense in this Court of the judgment they obtained in the district court. See Glassroth v. Moore, 335 F.3d 1282
