Codefendants Jerome Vaughn and Jamal Jackson were convicted of carjacking, G. L. c. 265, § 21A,2 and unarmed robbery (as a lesser included offense on an indictment charging armed robbery), G. L. c. 265, § 17. A third codefendant, Kelly Jacobs, indicted for carjacking, was tried with them and was acquitted.

Vaughn appeals his carjacking and unarmed robbery convictions...
