On 6 March 2001, Donald Lowe ("defendant") was charged with felonious child abuse of his son, Joshua Lowe ("Joshua"), assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury on James Hendricks and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury on Nannie Hendricks.

On 6 April 2001, defendant was indicted on these offenses and additionally charged with assault on a female and assault on a law enforcement officer. On 25 September 2001...
