BECKER, Chief Judge.

U.S.S.G. § 2D1.1(b)(1) requires courts to increase a defendant's offense level by two levels if a dangerous weapon was possessed by the defendant in the course of a drug trafficking offense. Note (3) of the Commentary to § 2D1.1(b)(1) explains that this enhancement "reflects the increased danger of violence when drug traffickers possess weapons."
