Carmella Dawson exploited her position as a billing clerk at a Chicago hospital in order to defraud the institution of over $175,000. After a grand jury indicted Dawson on six counts of mail fraud, she entered into a plea agreement with the government. Pursuant to that agreement, Dawson pled guilty to one count of the indictment and acknowledged that she owed the hospital $175,089 in restitution.
