Jeffrey Blaney (defendant) was convicted after a jury trial in the circuit court of White County of attempted murder, armed violence, and aggravated battery with a firearm. He was sentenced to 45 years' imprisonment for attempted murder. Defendant appeals, contending that he was denied both a fair trial and his right to appointed counsel.
