As a result of an attempted robbery of a taxicab and the fatal shooting of its driver, defendant was indicted and charged with murder in the second degree and attempted robbery in the first degree. At the conclusion of the trial, defendant was found guilty of both charges and was thereafter sentenced to concurrent indeterminate terms of imprisonment of 7½ to 15 years on the attempted robbery conviction and 25 years to life on the murder conviction.
