CANNELLA, Judge.

Defendant, Gerald Lewis, appeals his conviction of second degree murder, a violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1. We affirm the conviction and sentence.

On November 18, 1997, Defendant was charged with the second degree murder of Felton Lorio. He was tried by a jury on April 20, 21 and 22, 1999 and found guilty as charged. On May 21, 1999, the trial judge sentenced Defendant to life imprisonment at hard labor, without benefit of
