Jesse Pinsonneault was murdered on November 3, 1992, as he attempted to deposit his employer's daily receipts into the night depository of Merchants & Farmers Bank & Trust Company. His parents, James and Debra Mae (Debbie) Pinsonneault, filed a wrongful death suit against the defendant bank alleging various breaches of security.1 Following a bench trial, the trial court determined that
