Sixteen years after signing a stipulation of settlement in her divorce action, the plaintiff filed a complaint alleging attorney malpractice (as well as breach of fiduciary duty, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and violation of G. L. c. 93A) against the defendant, a lawyer who represented her in the divorce. She claims her action is timely because she filed it within three years of her discovery that it was the defendant's failure to investigate...
