In 1993, Edmond Xavier Ramirez solicited $1,540,000 from Minnesota investors to produce an electric car, deposited the funds in an escrow account in a Minnesota bank, and then transferred the monies out of trust to make extravagant personal purchases. A jury convicted him of two counts of wire fraud in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1343, and ten counts of engaging in monetary transactions in property derived from that fraud in violation of 18...
