Joseph Crucia, Jr. (Crucia), a contractor, sued Barbara and Earl Gravois and their homeowners insurer, State Farm Fire and Casualty Company1 (defendants), alleging he fell and was injured after he stepped in loose sand in the Gravois' backyard.
