This is a direct appeal by the defendant, Cleave Sims, from his convictions by a jury in Sedgwick County, Kansas, of one count of first-degree felony murder, two counts of aggravated battery, and one count of criminal discharge of a firearm. In total, the trial court sentenced Cleave to life in prison plus a consecutive 60 months. Cleave appeals his convictions and sentences.
