SHEPARD, Justice.

Appellant Michael Timothy Robinson was charged with murder, Ind.Code Ann. § 35-42-1-1(1) (West Supp.1997), and robbery, a class A felony, Ind.Code Ann. § 35-42-5-1 (West 1986). A jury found him guilty of both crimes. The trial judge sentenced him to sixty-five years for murder and forty-five years for robbery, to be served consecutively.
