The defendant, Hillner Thomas, was charged by bill of information with purse snatching, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:65.1. The defendant pled not guilty and was tried by a jury. The jury found the defendant guilty as charged, and the trial court sentenced the defendant to imprisonment at hard labor for ten years and credited him with time served.
