This matter came before this court on a motion for prejudgment interest. The facts of the case are as follows. Penny Lowe (f.k.a. Eldridge) was injured in a motor vehicle collision with a tortfeaser on March 3, 1994. The tortfeaser's insurance company settled for the maximum limits of liability, $12,500, on July 24, 1995. The plaintiff's insurance company, the defendant in this action, denied the plaintiffs' claim under the underinsured coverage...
