Edward J. Robertson was charged by bill of information on April 30, 1996, with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a violation of La. R.S. 14:95.1. At his arraignment on 3 May 1996, he pleaded not guilty. The trial court found probable cause and denied the motion to suppress the evidence on 17 June 1996. After a bench trial on 9 January 1997, the defendant was found guilty of attempted possession...
