On December 15, 1993, Margie D. Orillion was involved in an automobile accident with Gregory Shane Rogers, a minor. She sued Rogers; his mother, Beverly Diane Rogers Piper; their liability carrier, Allstate Insurance Company; and Government Employees Insurance Company (GEICO), her uninsured motorist (UM) and medical payments (med pay) insurer.
