In July 1993, a federal grand jury indicted Christopher Mackey under 18 U.S.C. § 2113(a) and charged him with four separate robberies of federally insured banks located in the same area southeast of Boston: the South Shore Bank in North Weymouth (November 1991), the Weymouth Cooperative Bank in Weymouth (December 1991), the South Shore Bank in Quincy (February 1992), and the Abington Savings Bank in Abington (September 1992).
